Yes i know its a bit early for planning next year, but the holiday board has been put up at work and they are asking us to book early. So with that in mind, any idea on what date the newark session will be next year? Its one party i dont want to miss.

Spring Bank is 31 May, so I suppose Nwk10 will be 1st w/e in June, ie. Fri.04 - Sun. 06.

Just guessing.

Only 7½ months to go ...

Are we at the same venue Ross or do you want to try some where different?

Hi Si - the plan is for the same site at the moment although I am open to suggestions for other venues.

I'd like the venue to be in the same geographical area & for consistency I'd like any move to be considered permanent in so much as we could guarantee the same place & date year on year & it would have to offer at least the same as what we have now. I don't want to be on the move every year.

The site is available all year round for all sizes of groups from the Scout Association and Registered Youth Organisations.

That's not us. If you can use your influence to get us on will we be able to guarantee that every year?

I think I'd like to use the usual Newark venue for 2010 but recce any other venues that are thought to be suitable. I'd be happy to check out Robin Hood & any other local sites you know while I'm down at Newark next year.

I can get us on for the whole site for this year but they are having a massive refurbishment for the year after! They are open to other groups, they do alot for the ccc and others. The amenities are much better than Newark in that if we were to book any of the site then toilets and hot showers are in with the asking price (Plus the have toilets and stuff for the disabled). If we book the whole site then we get the two halls one large and one small for displays and such plus there are two kitchen areas. The bunk beds could be used if the weather is bad, plus the hall may be used for evening focal point gatherings. There are two good pubs within 10 mins walk and the nearest super store is 10 mins by car.

However I would like for you to have a look at it first I would not want to make that type of decision on my own. I think it would be good if I could show you around at Newark 2010 then maybe a trip to walesby as well?

Ross, I think we should stick with Smeaton's Lakes. You know the saying, If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
Looking forward to the meet.

Yep - not long to go now. Same script as previous years. I'll be putting a 'poster' up shortly.

Hi
I think Ross must be worried about over subscription this year and that is why he chose that picture as a poster.
Those three scunners would scare anyone off.
