Do any of you know what the rarest production stove of all is? What have some of you always wanted but never run across etc.

I think one of the rarest I would like to have is the Comet #6 as I understand it only a handful of these are out there out all 3-4 of them. Beautiful looking stove though.

I don't know, but I would guess the "Assurans Stove" and the Nyberg stove might be up there. I would also guess that if you just look at the postings from Magnus Thilander, you might see some of the rarest ones. Like this posting-

Yes, Magnus has/had some very nice stoves.

Let's hope he hasn't sand-blasted them as he was planning to do...

We don't know, because nobody has ever heard of it.

Hi all: If you are including suitcases, probably my 1928 3 burner Clayton&Lambert as it is the only one known to exist after many years of searching and researching by many collectors. Mike...

Please PT me if you find another. Thanks

About a year ago there was a brass Primus stove made in St. Louis, MO by the Magic Chef Company apparently under license in about 1915.

I bid as high as I could and the last I saw of it, it was gone to a much richer high bidder far away in Formosa.

Hi KAH: The only brassy stove the American stove Co. ("Magic Chef" or "Quick Meal") made was in the teen's and called the Vesuvius which was not under license. Mike...

That's probably the best answer!

I know what I'm after - I don't know anyone who has one & I don't know if it's any good either! The other one I would like I know of 2 - one in Japan, the other in Sweden.

Surely, this must qualify:

As Ross pointed out, most of the stoves in that post from Magnus are from the Stockholm Technical Museum. If you look at his body of postings, you'll see more very rare stoves.

I'm going to keep looking for Cleopatra's stove!

I made something that looked just like this out of a coffee can as a cub scout. Who knew I should have made it out of brass and kept it...

It get's no rarer than that!
Matt

Too many stoves? Is that possible?

I'd have to agree and certainly it's a "classic" camp stove!

I have no idea of how many were made but I have never seen so much as a mention, much less a picture, of the "Juwel Patent 5" I picked up out of Australia. It is about the size of a Juwel 6 with a Juwel 6 burner but uses what looks to be a shortened (about 1 inch less) Juwel 6 pump. Its top is domed from edge to edge. Some day I will learn to do pixs!!!

It would be interesting to me at least to know how many of us own how many of which type of stove.

I am guessing that about 75-80% of the stoves we all own are the Optimus or Primus this and that, followed by Coleman etc depends on geography of course. Then the balance is where the stoves start getting really interesting. Of course I mean from a rarity and numbers standpoint.

Sorry I used to be a Production Planning Manager.

Mike: I have lived in that area all my life
and never even knew they made the things, nor
did I ever see one.

Do you have any information on production
figures. Thanks, KAH

Any word in particular?

You could try on his own site but he's not been there since November.
